JAKARTA - Commemorating the 93rd Youth Pledge Day, on October 28, 2021, the General Chair of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, emphasized that the spirit of struggle in the past has always accompanied the steps of Indonesian youth today. Especially to make this country more advanced.

Airlangga Hartarto then gave an example of how the unyielding spirit and desire to always move forward made Indonesia now successfully handle the COVID-19 pandemic after the last two years being shackled by the pandemic.

Airlangga who is also Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Chair of the COVID-19 Handling and National Economic Recovery Committee (KPCPEN) reminded the Indonesian people, including young people, millennials or generation Z, to always be vigilant, while still complying with the Health protocols which are also constantly promoted by the government. .

The chairman of the Golkar Party emphasized that Indonesia has indeed received praise from the international community for its success in handling and overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic as well as rising from the threat of economic downturn. However, these compliments should not make us negligent.

"We still have to work hard to make the pandemic endemic and in the future we can really be more comfortable in living social life, while the economy and the economy run even better," said the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party.

Airlangga Hartarto acknowledged that the COVID-19 pandemic had also had an impact on Indonesia. However, according to him, it is not comparable to the impact experienced by other countries.

"The pandemic has hit us, but compared to what has happened in other countries, we are blessed with economic resilience. Our record, so far, is that Indonesia is one of the best in Asia, in the context of the resurgence of the pandemic," said Airlangga.

“We must remain optimistic about the future, because we have a great leader, namely President Joko Widodo. We must also believe together that Indonesia has good hopes for the future," continued Airlangga Hartarto.

Airlangga Hartarto mentioned the good momentum of the commemoration of the 93rd Youth Pledge Day, with the big theme "United, Rise, and Grow". The theme is correlated with what the government has done and continues to do, which with all its might and efforts is dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic and all its impacts, including the economic impact.

"Youth is the most important part that we must prepare to have an entrepreneurial interest. Because we know we will face a demographic bonus and youth is an important element in the demographic bonus," said Airlangga Hartarto.

In the context of youth, the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party said that the Golkar Party is the party of choice for young people, millennials or generation Z. The results from various survey institutions prove this.

Airlangga Hartarto gave an example from the implementation of the 2020 regional elections, where the Golkar Party became the party that contributed the most young cadres. Of the 60 cadres encouraged by the Golkar Party, 25 of them managed to qualify, either becoming regional heads or deputy regional heads. There are also many young Golkar figures in the DPR.

“This is proof that we, in the Golkar Party, always provide the widest possible space for extraordinary young cadres. We always place the best cadres in strategic posts in this republic," said Airlangga Hartarto.

The General Chairperson of the Golkar Party then explained about the existence of the Golkar Institute, which he called the "candradimuka crater" for the preparation of potential young Golkar Party cadres.
