In Front Of Children, Husband Beats Wife With 3 Kg LPG Gas Cylinder While Sleeping Until She Dies

JAKARTA - Novi Savitri (25) was found dead in a pathetic condition at her home, located in the Jatiraden Village area, Jatisampurna, Bekasi City. The victim died after being hit by a 3-kilogram LPG gas cylinder by Harry Purnama, her own husband.

Alvi Armas, Head of RT 05/09, Jatiraden District, testified. Harry did his sadistic act while his wife was sleeping. At the time of the incident, Novi and one of her children were asleep. For no apparent reason, Harry immediately hit his wife with a gas cylinder until Novi died.

"So he was beaten while sleeping. So after being hit, the child immediately woke up, seeing that his mother was covered in blood", said Alvi Armas to reporters, Thursday, October 28.

Alvi admitted that he did not know the root of the problem of domestic violence (KDRT). However, the married life of this husband and wife is not harmonious.

"In the house, there are often quarrels. But I don't know what the problem is", he said. So far, said Alvi, the victim is known as a collector of used goods, while her husband is unemployed and has two children aged 5 and 2 years.

Alvi further said that the victim's husband had to undergo treatment at the Mental Hospital for 10 days. The information was obtained from a certificate from a mental hospital found at the victim's house.

"The temporary information said there was a disturbance. Mental disorder. But I don't know exactly how, because when the investigators found it, there was a certificate from the hospital", he said.

Ironically, the perpetrator Harry was known by local residents to be well behaved and there was nothing suspicious about the perpetrator. Alvi admitted that he only found out that Harry had a problem after a letter was found by police investigators.

"If the daily life among the residents, the husband is good. There is no problem whatsoever. There is no strange behavior, if in the house there are often quarrels like that", he said.

In fact, before the incident occurred, the perpetrator had participated in community service at the prayer room. At that time, residents had no suspicion of the perpetrators. However, a few weeks ago the perpetrator was never seen, possibly according to Alvi the perpetrator was undergoing treatment at the RSJ by his family.

Due to frequent fights, the perpetrator's family also had time to pick him up. Before that happened, Harry had gone mad and killed his wife. "The intention yesterday was that the family wanted to be picked up, earlier. The family ultimatum was if he didn't want to. Want to forcefully pick him up to be kept away by his wife", he said.

Until now, the case has been handled by the Bekasi City Police. Even recently, the Bekasi City Metro Police are still examining as many as 3 witnesses related to the case of domestic violence that led to the death.

Head of Public Relations of the Bekasi City Metro Police, Kompol Erna Ruswing, said that until now the police are still investigating the case to find out the motives of the perpetrators.

"While at the TKP there are 3 witnesses that we have examined", said Kompol Erna to reporters, Thursday, October 28.

According to Erna, based on witness testimony, the incident was discovered when the victim's child was crying. At that time residents who heard immediately checked and found the child covered in blood.

"At first the neighbors woke up hearing the sound of a small child crying when they checked it turned out to be the victim's child, and it turned out that the child's clothes were full of blood", he said.

Seeing the incident, the witnesses immediately checked and found the victim was covered in blood. Until finally called the head of the local RT and proceeded to report to the local police.

"We are still carrying out investigations and developments, we have already conducted the crime scene", he said.
