East Java Police Examine Bojonegoro Deputy Regent For Reporting Defamation Of Disputing Regents In WhatsApp Group

SURABAYA - Investigators from the East Java Police Special Criminal Investigation Directorate examined the Deputy Regent of Bojonegoro, Budi Irwanto.

The man, who is familiarly called Wawan, was examined as a witness reporting the alleged defamation case by the Regent of Bojonegoro, Anna Muawanah.

"Indeed, today there was a summons from the Deputy Regent (Bojonegoro)", said Head of Public Relations of the East Java Police, Kombes Gatot Repli Handoko, at the East Java Police Headquarters, Surabaya, Thursday, October 28.

However, Gatot did not reveal the time of the examination. But a letter circulated summoning Wawan to be examined at 10.00 WIB.

The summons of Deputy Regent Wawan, said Gatot, were to add to the existing information. Previously, the East Java Police Special Criminal Investigation Directorate had also summoned expert witnesses to assess whether the polemic related to the Bojonegoro Regent and Wabup contained elements of defamation.

"This is to add to the existing information. What is clear is that we are still processing it. Friends have examined expert witnesses, from that there is still information that needs to be completed", he said.

Gatot said investigators would send a summons to the WhatsApp Group (WAG) admin, who was suspected of spreading Wawan's defamation. Meanwhile, regarding the summoning of Regent Anna, Gatot could not confirm it.

"Because I'm not an investigator. Today, it's just the vice-regent", said Gatot.
