Chinese Citizen In South Kalimantan Arrested By Police For Controlling Illegal Loans

BANJARMASIN - Kotabaru Police in South Kalimantan, arrested a Chinese citizen with the initials SM who controlled the collection of illegal online loans carried out by PT Jasa Muda Collector (JMC).

"There are a total of three suspects in this loan case, one foreigner and two Indonesian citizens with the initials KH and DU, a woman," said the Head of the South Kalimantan Regional Police, Inspector General Rikwanto, in Banjarmasin, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, October 27.

He stated, PT JMC is an illegal online loan collection service company that collaborates with a number of online credit applications, including Cashgo, Easy Fund, Jiang Zian, Cash Pro, Jarikaya, Xintu, Ayo Pinjam, Nas Fish, Credit Kur, and Duitku.

"So customers or debtors who do not make payments on time or are in arrears are threatened with the spread of personal data and so on," he said.

The case began with the results of a team investigation led by the Head of the Kotabaru Police, AKBP M Gafur Siregar, and the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kotabaru Police, AKP Abdul Jalil, until the police raided the PT JMC office, on Jalan Brigadier General Police H Hasan Basri, in Semayap Village, Pulau Laut District. North, Kotabaru Regency.

The evidence was confiscated 90 units of computers operated by 35 operators. Each operator collects online to 400 debtors per day.

"So after checking the documents, they do not have an official appointment from the owner of the loan application and are not registered with the OJK," said Rikwanto. A paragraph (3) in conjunction with article 88E paragraph (2) of Law Number 11/2020 concerning Job Creation.
