Lampard So The Reason Werner Chose To Join Chelsea

JAKARTA - Timo Werner officially costumed Chelsea for next season. The German national team striker said manager Frank Lampard was the main reason for joining the Blues.

"He is the main reason. We talked a lot about the system, how he wants us to play and my place in the team and how everything will suit me," Werner said in an exclusive interview broadcast on Chelsea's official website quoted by Antara, Wednesday, July 29. .

"He is a fun person, not only wants me here but wants to help my development," added the former RB Leipzig striker.

Werner was brought by Chelsea to London after the Blues agreed to meet the minimum limit clause for the German striker's purchase from Leipzig.

At Leipzig this season he has contributed 28 goals in 34 matches. He helped the team finish third in the Bundesliga.

Werner seemed to witness Chelsea's final match in the Premier League this season at Stamford Bridge. He has also attended training sessions with his new colleagues at Cobham.

The 24-year-old player admits that he has always had the ambition to play with big teams like Chelsea and the Premier League is the right destination for his career development.

"The Premier League style of play is very fast and that's one of my skills, so I think it's the right place to play," he said.
