JAKARTA - The House of Representatives' Honorary Court (MKD) has yet to receive information on any member of the House of Representatives who was reported to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters for alleged sexual abuse of minors.

"We have not received any information regarding this. Is it true that the person reported is a member of the DPR and what is the description of the incident," said Deputy Chairman of the DPR MKD Habiburokhman, Wednesday, October 27.

The Gerindra politician said that the MKD did not want to assume in advance about information on alleged sexual abuse committed by a member of the DPR.

The MKD, Habib said, allowed the police to investigate when they received a report. MKD will not intervene in the ongoing legal process.

"We must respect the principle of equality before the law, any citizen who violates the law must be investigated," said Habiburokhman.

Previously, a member of the House of Representatives for the 2019-2024 period was reported to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police for allegedly committing sexual abuse of minors. This case has been reported by the victim's attorney.

"The alleged criminal act of obscene acts against minors. Not sexual harassment," said the victim's attorney, Gangan when contacted by reporters, Wednesday, October 27.

The lawyers refused to reveal the initials of the DPR members or which faction the alleged perpetrator of the molestation was from.
