BUKITTINGGI - The Narcotics Investigation Unit Team of the Bukittinggi Police, West Sumatra secured 9.5 kilograms of cannabis-type drugs from three perpetrators, namely a security guard and two recidivists who were arrested in the Gulai Bancah Village, Bukittinggi City.

The Head of Narcotics at the Bukittinggi Police AKP Aleyxi Aubedillah said the arrests were made on the evening of Tuesday, October 26. Two of those arrested were recidivist drug cases and another was working as a security guard at a store market in the Bukittinggi area.

AKP Aleyxi explained that the arrest of the perpetrator started from information from the public who said that there would be a sale and purchase of illegal goods at the location.

"We received this information and immediately followed it up in the field. Indeed, we found the first suspect with the initials DD (27) who had a medium package of marijuana weighing 25 grams," said Aleyxi, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 27.

The arrest of the first suspect was then developed by officers to find out the origin of the illicit goods obtained by the perpetrators.

"From the investigation and confession of the first suspect, we finally managed to apprehend two other perpetrators, the initials N (40) and I (27) who are suspected of being marijuana dealers or suppliers," said Aleyxi.

The arrests of the two perpetrators who had large amounts of evidence were carried out at the location of the first suspect.

"At the crime scene, we found evidence in the form of three packages of narcotics with brown tape, two small packets of marijuana wrapped in brown rice paper in the front pocket of a black shirt," said Aleyxi.

The officers also found and secured evidence in the form of a pack of Royo papyrus paper, two cell phones and a dark red Daihatsu Charade car with BA 1110 DA number.

It didn't stop there, the officers also took the perpetrator to his house in the Bukit Apit Puhun area, Guguak Panjang to check the existence of other evidence.

"Sure enough, we again found evidence at the home of the perpetrators, namely five packages of marijuana wrapped in brown duct tape, the total being around 9,500 grams," explained Aleyxi.

All the perpetrators were then taken to the Bukittinggi Police Station to be held accountable for their actions and the development of the case.

"In the meantime, the perpetrators stated that this item came from the Madina area, North Sumatra and will indeed be circulated in Bukittinggi. We will snare the perpetrators under Articles 114 and 111 of Law 35 of 2009 with the threat of imprisonment from 6 to 20 years in prison," said Aleyxi.
