NTB Police Chief Firm Threat For Unscrupulous Members Who Shoot Colleagues To Death: Criminal Process And Discharge!

JAKARTA - The Head of the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, Inspector General of Police Mohammad Iqbal, issued a threat to discharge the Chief Police Brigadier with the initials MN, the member who shot his colleague, Police Brigadier One HT, to death.

"I, as the head of the NTB Regional Police, will process according to the applicable rules, firmly, and I make sure that the person is in the criminal process and I will discharge him according to the mechanism," said Iqbal, in Mataram, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 27.

The mechanism of the violation committed by MN is related to disciplinary sanctions and the Police of Republic of Indonesia (Polri) code of ethics in accordance with Government Regulation Number 2/2003 concerning Disciplinary Regulations for Polri Members and Polri Chief Regulation Number 43/2004 concerning Procedures for Settling Discipline Violations for Polri Members.

The dismissal from the Indonesian National Police service was decided through the National Police Professional Code of Ethics Commission Session. This is regulated in Article 13 of Government Regulation Number 2/2003 concerning Police Disciplinary Regulations.

The shooting incident by MN against HT occurred on Monday (25/10), at one of the houses with the address at BTN Griya Pesona Madani, East Lombok Regency.

Based on the results of the crime scene, the victim was presumed dead at 11.20 central Indonesia time, about four hours after one of the witnesses found his body lying covered in blood. From the autopsy results at Bhayangkara Hospital in Mataram, the victim was declared dead from a gunshot wound lodged in the right chest.

This result was corroborated by the findings at the crime scene, namely two cartridges which were thought to have come from the SS-V2 Sabhara individual assault rifle. The shooting action against members of the East Lombok Police Public Relations was also revealed from MN's confession.

Related to the motive of the murder case, it is suspected that it was a matter of romance. MN is jealous of HT who is suspected of having an illicit relationship with his wife.
