Depok Residents May Hold Wedding Celebration

JAKARTA - Residents of Depok, West Java may hold a celebration of marriage and circumcision amid the COVID-19 pandemic. But by strictly enforcing health protocols.

"Of course there should be no direct physical contact, shaking hands or hugging between the organizers, guests and among you who are present," said Mayor Mohammad Idris in a statement quoted by Antara, Depok, Tuesday, Tuesday, July 28.

The Depok City Government has issued Depok Mayor Regulation Number 49 of 2020. Namely regarding the Second Amendment to the Depok Mayor's Regulation Number 37 of 2020 concerning Proportional PSBB Guidelines according to the Level of Vigilance as Preparation for Implementing New Adaptation for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in Depok City .

In the Depok Mayor's Regulation Number 49 of 2020, one of which regulates circumcision celebration activities and wedding celebration activities that have begun to be allowed, with various provisions.

Idris explained other provisions in the celebration of circumcision or marriage, namely restrictions on invitation. For example, there are about 50 people every 1 hour. Then, if you use an open or outdoor tent, it is set at 50 percent of the capacity and if you use a closed room, it is set at 30 percent of the capacity.

"It is also not allowed to eat buffet meals so that food is prepared in boxes or brought home. In addition, hosts and guests are also required to wear masks, maintain a minimum physical distance of 1.5 meters and prepare a place to wash hands with soap or hand sanitizer," he said.

He said that in the celebration of circumcision or marriage, his party also gave permission to art workers to carry out entertainment activities. This is so that they can accommodate art workers during the COVID-19 period.

"It needs to be emphasized that entertainment activities at the celebration of circumcision or marriage are allowed by observing health protocols. If in practice there is a disagreement with the prevailing regulations, we will carry out supervision and control," he said.
