JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria denies the assumption that the plan to hold a concert by the South Korean boy band, BTS, at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) aims to attract young voters in the 2024 election.

Riza emphasized that the BTS concert plan when the stadium in North Jakarta was inaugurated had nothing to do with politics, moreover it was aimed at capturing the votes of young voters in the presidential election by DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.

"It doesn't have anything to do with it. Does everyone want to be associated with politics? Later, we will hold an event with grandmothers, which can be called politics because grandmothers also have voting rights," said Riza at City Hall, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, October 26.

Therefore, Riza asked all parties not to associate any DKI Provincial Government programs with political affairs. Because, he said, the election contestation is still two years away.

"So, don't connect everything with politics. It's still a long time, 2024. Now, we are busy working to carry out our respective mandates as whatever our profession, the most important thing is to maintain the unity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia so that the political situation is conducive," said Riza.

"Don't worry about the presidential election, regional election, legislative election, it's still far away. The Netherlands is still far away," added the Gerindra politician.

For information, the Korean Pop (K-Pop) group from South Korea Bangtan Boys (BTS) plans to hold a concert at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) in 2022.

Reportedly, JIS will be equipped with an audio system (sound system) with advanced technology to support large concerts.

The audio system is also supported by a closed room inside JIS so that the music sounds better than the concert at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium (GBK).

This was criticized by the PDIP faction member of the DKI DPRD, Gilbert Simanjuntak. Gilbert accused that the BTS concert plan was just a trick by Anies to gain the votes of young voters in the 2024 presidential election.

"This strong impression is like preparation for 2024, because it is not in accordance with the purpose of building a stadium but more towards attracting young voters," said Gilbert.
