Theft Of Dori Fish Worth Rp3.5 Billion Masterminded By Supervisor, Police Reveal Perpetrators Act At Night

JAKARTA - The Tanjung Priok Port Police Headquarters revealed the practice of stealing dory fish and squid in a warehouse owned by a marine fish distributor in Muara Angke, Penjaringan, North Jakarta.

Tanjung Priok Port Deputy Police Chief Commissioner Yunita Natalia Rungkat said the perpetrator of the theft was one of the company's employees. The perpetrator of HRN (30), said Yunita, has a very important position in the process of getting in and out of goods.

"He is a warehouse supervisor, so he has the authority to do the packing of goods in the form of squid and fish," Yunita explained.

Yunita also explained that the perpetrators carried out their actions at night so that they were not monitored or seen by employees or superiors.

Previously, the Tanjung Priok Harbor Police Satreskrim arrested HRN (30) who was the perpetrator of the theft of squid and dory fish from the PT SIF warehouse in Muara Angke, Penjaringan, North Jakarta. Yunita said the theft took place from April to August 2021.

"Based on the results of the investigation, the investigation increased, there was a loss of Rp. 3.6 billion or as much as 46 tons, the difference from the goods in the form of squid and dory fish that were in the warehouse," said Yunita.

According to Yunita, HRN's actions were discovered after the complainant saw or caught the suspect removing fish from the warehouse without permission on July 21 in the morning.
