Luhut Knows There Is A Stubborn Bar Open Until 2 Am, Visitors Are Prohibited From Taking Pictures So They Don't Get Caught

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, revealed the results of the PPKM (Community Activity Restrictions) supervisory team's investigation and found violations in business premises, including bars and nightclubs.

According to Luhut, there are still bars that do not comply with PPKM rules because they are still operating until 2 am. In fact, the current rule is that bars can only operate until 12 at night.

Luhut knows that several stubborn bars outsmart the violation by forbidding visitors to take photos or videos to prevent outsiders from getting caught.

"Bars and nightclubs are still operating without regard to existing health protocols. In some bars, visitors are not allowed to take pictures and videos to minimize the possibility of being exposed to the media", Luhut said in a virtual press conference, Monday, October 25.

In addition, Luhut also found a violation of the use of the PeduliLindung application at tourist attractions to restaurants.

According to him, the manager of the place of business only requires one representative of the visitor group to scan the PeduliLindung application's barcode. This method is used by them so that the capacity of unidentified tourist attractions is filled with visitors.

"We did identification in the field and found only 1 person or representative from the group who was required to scan the QR code so that the capacity of tourist attractions did not fill up quickly", said Luhut.

Then, further supervision needs to be carried out at each transit/transportation place. There are still several rest areas and other places that do not force visitors to scan PeduliLindung barcodes.

However, Luhut appreciated the health protocol at the fitness center or gym.

"We also appreciate that the opening of a fitness center under the PPKI association has implemented a strict health protocol, by the agreement contained in the Circular from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Tourism and Creative Economy Agency", he concluded.
