Starting Next Week, Jakarta's Odd-Even Points Will Be Expanded To 13 Points

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya together with the Provincial Government (Pemprov) DKI Jakarta decided to expand the implementation of odd-even areas in the Jakarta area. Where, there are currently 13 odd-even application points.

"The meeting decided that the odd-even points, which were previously 3 areas, namely Sudirman, Thamrin, and Rasuna Said, have now become 13 areas," said Director of Traffic and Traffic of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo, to reporters, Friday, October 22.

Despite the expansion of the odd-even point of application, the time of application has not changed. The odd-even scheme will be implemented in two shifts, morning and evening.

"Then the time of application remains in effect in the morning and evening from 06.00 WIB to 10.00 WIB in the morning. Then in the evening or afternoon from 16.00 pm to 21.00 WIB," said Sambodo.

However, the odd-even scheme will not apply on weekends or Saturdays and Sundays. Gage also does not apply on national holidays.

The odd-even point expansion will take effect on Monday, October 25. Thus, vehicles with police numbers (nopol) that do not match the date will be ticketed.

Police said the odd-even expansion was carried out after analysis. One of them is about increasing the volume of vehicles.

"That's why people feel that today is more congested than before because it rose between 37-40 percent compared to PPKM Level-4 and 3," said Sambodo.
