Lumajang Regent Cak Thoriq Reports Jokowi Because Earthquake Assistance Hasn't Been Distributed

LUMAJANG - Lumajang Regent Thoriqul Haq reported to President Joko Widodo because the earthquake assistance promised by the government for earthquake victims in Kaliuling Village, Lumajang Regency, East Java had not yet been received.

The complaint was conveyed by the Regent of Lumajang, who is usually called Cak Thoriq during the friendly opening of the All-Indonesian Regency Government Association (Apkasi) Autonomy Expo 2021 at the Bogor Presidential Palace, Wednesday, October 20.

"I report that assistance for the earthquake disaster six months ago that occurred in Kaliuling Village, Pronojiwo District, and other communities has not materialized," said Cak Thoriq, quoted by Antara, Thursday, October 21.

According to him, the Lumajang Regency Government is moving quickly to collect data on victims and carry out verification as requested by the National Disaster Management Agency (BPNB).

"The administration and support processes have also been completed by the Lumajang Regency Government with the hope that the assistance for the reconstruction of earthquake victims' houses from the central government will be realized soon," he said.

Cak Thoriq hopes that the report submitted to President Joko Widodo will accelerate the realization of assistance from the government for earthquake victims.

In addition to the realization of housing rehabilitation assistance due to the earthquake, the Lumajang Regent also conveyed national priority programs in local districts such as the construction of the Probolinggo-Lumajang Toll Road.

"It is hoped that the construction of the toll road can facilitate and accelerate economic access for the Lumajang community," he said.

Cak Thoriq hopes that reports related to national priority programs will be accelerated, such as the construction of the Probolinggo-Lumajang toll road, then the strategic program for Bromo-Tengger-Semeru tourism, in which Mount Semeru is located in Lumajang Regency.

"We also convey several social forestry programs, partnerships with farmers, the industrial and service sectors which are expected to have intervention from the central government," he said.
