COVID-19 Update As Of October 21: New Cases 633, Active Cases 15,594

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 218,399 specimens were examined with the result that there were 633 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,237,834 people and active cases are 15,594", according to data from the Ministry of Health, Thursday, October 21.

Today's recovered cases increased by 1,372 cases, bringing the total to 4,079,120 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 43 people and a total of 143,120 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 89 cases and a total of 845,619 cases. Followed by Central Java with 88 new cases with a total of 451,987 cases. West Kalimantan has 74 new cases and a total of 40,874 cases. Then, East Java with 64 new cases and a total of 397,638 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 213 recovered cases. Followed by South Sulawesi with an additional 162 recovered cases, DKI Jakarta with an additional 151 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 110 recovered cases.

There is 1 province that reported no new cases today, namely Bengkulu. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 44,329,671.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 0.58 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases, 4,336. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 110,406,777 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 65,173,148 people have received the second dose of vaccination. While the third dose of vaccination was 1,084,605. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
