46 Occupants Of Ponpes Babussalam Depok Positive For COVID-19, Sub-district Head: All Are Asymptomatic, They Are Healthy And Normal

JAKARTA - A total of 46 students at the Babussalam Islamic Boarding School, Mekarsari, Cimanggis, Depok City, West Java have tested positive for COVID-19 since October 12.

Cimanggis Sub-district Head, Depok, Abdul Rahman, said this incident began when a student's guardian reported that one of the students had tested positive for COVID-19.

"So the first one was the health department, receiving a report from the student's guardian that one of them was positive in class VIII initially", said Abdul Rahman when confirmed by VOI, Thursday, October 21.

Knowing this, the relevant parties conducted a PCR test for class VIII at the Babussalam Islamic Boarding School. The results obtained 17 positive people for COVID-19.

Seeing the number of positive students, finally, a PCR test was carried out for all residents of the Babussalam Islamic Boarding School, namely 182 students and 71 employees. The result was 46 positive people for COVID-19.

"First there were 17 positive people, then a thorough examination was carried out. So a total of 46 people were positive", said Abdul Rahman.

Abdul Rahman said, currently 46 students who were positive for COVID-19 were undergoing independent isolation at the Babussalam Islamic Boarding School. This decision was made because Babussalam's location was wide and far from residential areas.

"All of the positive students are asymptomatic, they are in good health, in normal condition", said Rahman.

On this occasion, Abdul said that residents who tested negative for COVID-19 were still in the Babussalam Islamic Boarding School area. But their existence is separated from the positive.

"The teachers and administrators are very cooperative. I ask for your support so they can recover quickly", he said.
