Child in Sibolga Sodomized, Perpetrator Claims to Like Same-Sex Since High School

MEDAN - The man with the initials TVH (35) was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sibolga Police, North Sumatra. T molested a 14-year-old boy.

The Head of Public Relations of the Sibolga Police, Iptu R Sormin, said that based on the evidence and the victim's confession, this obscene act of sodomy was carried out by the perpetrators since October 2020. The obscenity was carried out in the suspect's boarding house.

"The suspect gave the victim around IDR 2,000 to IDR 5,000 of money", said Iptu Sormin, Tuesday, October 19.

Iptu Sormin said the sexual abuse was discovered after the victim told her mother on Saturday, October 2. Feeling displeased, the mother reported this incident to the Sibolga Police. On Friday, October 8, the police arrested the suspect.

"After the examination, the suspect admitted that he had committed more than one act, first in early October 2020 at 11.00 WIB, in the suspect's boarding room and finally in September 2021", continued Iptu Sormin.

The suspect committed molestation because he had long liked the same sex. "The suspect's actions were carried out to satisfy his lust because since he was in high school, the suspect liked friends of the same sex", said Sormin.

Suspect with Article 76E in conjunction with Article 82 paragraph (1) of Indonesian Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law of Republic of Indonesia Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection.

"The minimum sentence is 5 years", said Iptu Sormin.
