JAKARTA - Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto stressed that the decisions of his party's presidential and vice presidential candidates will be handed over to the PDIP General Chair, Megawati Soekarnoputri. The cadres were asked not to just declare certain figures.

"The decision on who the presidential and vice presidential candidates of the PDI-P, the V PDIP Congress have given a mandate to the General Chairperson of the PDI-P, Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri," said Hasto in a written statement quoted on Friday, October 15.

The announcement of the presidential and vice presidential candidates proposed by the party bearing the bull symbol will also wait for the right time. The reason, said Hasto, is that the decision requires careful consideration.

"The announcement will be made at the right momentum. Everything requires careful consideration, not the origin of the declaration. That is the procedure for producing leaders, it needs careful and clear consideration," he said.

Hasto mentioned that at this time he saw that there was a group of cadres who did not want to work hard to carry out regeneration systematically, then took shortcuts by nominating certain people with various subjectivities of interest. So he asked his party cadres to be disciplined.

"The Party continues to observe the evolving political dynamics. All cadres and Party members continue to maintain discipline and prefer to help the people in all recovery programs from the impact of the pandemic," he stressed.

Furthermore, Hasto said, PDIP continues to consolidate and regenerate. Moreover, when it comes to cadres, this party insists that it has qualified figures born from this process such as President Joko Widodo, Prananda Prabowo, Puan Maharani, Olly Dondokambey, Ganjar Pranowo, Wayan Koster, Tri Rismaharini, Djarot Syaiful Hidayat, Abdullah Azwar Anas, Mardani , Sultan Riska, and others.

"The PDI-P continues to consolidate and regenerate the party. It all needs systemic work through the building of party organizations. So related to the presidential and vice presidential candidates, the party has many qualified cadres that have been prepared," said Hasto.

As previously reported, the PDI-P DPP reportedly summoned the Purworejo PDIP DPC administrator, Albertus Sumbogo, on Friday, October 15 today.

This summons began when Albertus, who chaired the Indonesian Ganjar National Secretariat (SGI) declared support for Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election. In response to the declaration, Central Java PDIP DPD Chairman Bambang Wuryanto called them wild boars. The title is for a bull cadre who is out of line.
