Expelled By The KPK, Herry Muryanto, Who Once Questioned Firli Bahuri Regarding Ethical Violations, Is Now Busy Working On Computers

JAKARTA - Former Deputy of Internal Supervision and Public Complaints who also served as Director of Investigation of the KPK, Herry Muryanto now has a new activity that he cannot do when he is active at the KPK.

The former deputy who once questioned KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri while serving as Deputy for Enforcement is now spending more time at home while channeling his hobbies. This was revealed by his former subordinate, Aulia Postiera through her Twitter account @paijodirajo.

"Herry Muryanto's full name. Former Deputy of Coordination and Supervision, Deputy of Internal Supervision and Public Complaints, Director of KPK Investigations. Meanwhile, he spends his days relaxing at home and channeling his hobbies fishing and 'cracking' computers," wrote Aulia in a thread quoted Thursday, October 14th.

Pak Herry, as he is known, is one of 57 KPK employees who were expelled from the KPK due to failing to become a State Civil Apparatus (ASN) through the National Insight Test Assessment (TWK). He joined the anti-corruption commission since 2006 at the Deputy for Investigation after serving as an investigative auditor for the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).

Aulia then told her former boss was a mysterious figure. He rarely spoke and was never in the media spotlight.

This was apparently done in order to maintain integrity. Aulia even recalled that her boss had a habit of arriving early and leaving last compared to other employees.

Even so, his career at the KPK was quite smooth. The reason is that after becoming an investigator he later served as Director of Investigation, Deputy of Internal Monitoring and Public Complaints, and Deputy of Coordination and Supervision.

In addition, Herry also turned out to handle many major cases at the KPK. "Especially when he served as Plt. Dirlid in 2015 and Dirlid in 2016-2018. Those were the best times for the KPK to take action against corruption," said Aulia.

Aulia also said that Herry had led his subordinates to conduct an ethical check that was carried out by Firli while serving as Deputy for Enforcement. The violation occurred when Firli met Tuan Guru Bajang, the former Governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) who was a witness in the alleged corruption handled by the KPK in 2018.

"Unfortunately, the results of the examination were not considered by the KPK Leadership Panel and members of the DPR at that time," said Aulia.

Now that he has been expelled from the KPK, Herry often spends his time pursuing his hobby of fishing and 'cracking' computers. Aulia even said that Herry learned to code by himself and often discussed new technologies in the IT Security field with him.

"When I asked what his plans were for the future, he replied lightly, "Relax first, bro. Gather as much information as possible, analyze the situation, then make a decision". Typical of an investigator. He also conveys that he loves this country very much. If the country still needs it, he will always be ready," he said.
