BRIN Researcher: Malaria Control Program Must Be Integrated

JAKARTA - Researchers at the Eijkman Research Center for Molecular Biology, the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) Dr. Rintis Noviyanti said the malaria control program must be carried out in an integrated manner (integrated malaria control program) to control malaria cases in Indonesia. Until now, the Indonesian government continues to strive to be able to eliminate malaria in all regions of the country. The Indonesian government is targeting national malaria elimination or malaria-free Indonesia by 2030. dr. Didik Budijanto, M.Kes said that one of the challenges in the malaria elimination program that was of concern was how to reduce the number of active or passive malaria cases. , and capacity building of health human resources (HR). In an effort to eliminate malaria, the Government of Indonesia also ensures the availability of malaria diagnosis and treatment tools, and carries out control of malaria-transmitting mosquitoes with the community by means of environmental improvements.
