Previously Arrested Corruptors, Harun Al Rasyid Now Manages Islamic Boarding Schools And Busy Trading After Being Expelled By KPK

JAKARTA - Former Head of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Task Force (Kasatgas) Harun Al Rasyid now has a different activity after being expelled from his job due to failing to become a State Civil Apparatus (ASN) through the National Insight Test (TWK) mechanism.

Cak Harun, as he is called, is now busy managing the pesantren and also trading. This was revealed by former KPK investigator Aulia Postiera through her tweet on the @paijodirajo account.

Through the thread he made, he said that Harun was born and raised in the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) environment in Madura. This is what then made the former investigator who was dubbed the 'King of OTT' founded a pesantren.

Not only establishing a pesantren, said Aulia, Harun is also active in teaching the children in his environment to recite the Koran.

"Harun, who is usually called 'Cak Harun' or 'Ustad Harun' was born and raised in an NU Islamic boarding school in Madura. That is what prompted Harun to establish a pesantren from setting aside his income, as well as teaching the Koran to children around his house in the Bogor area," he said. .

Aulia also said that Harun was an active person while carrying out his work as an investigator. In the midst of the time-consuming process of handling corruption cases, Harun was able to divide his time to carry out his duties as an administrator for the KPK Employee Forum, taking care of the Al Ikhlas Mosque of the KPK, teaching the Koran at his Islamic boarding school, and writing books.

Harun has written two books, namely Corruption Jurisprudence - Analysis of Money Politics in Indonesia in the Perspective of Maqashid al-Syariah and Business Competition Jurisprudence and Anti-Corruption Morality - Reactualization of Business Theology and Healthy Competition.

In addition, Aulia also mentioned Harun as an outstanding investigator and a role model for many of his juniors at the KPK. However, he is now one of 57 employees who were fired through TWK.

"Harun is one of the outstanding investigators and a role model for many juniors at the KPK. Many of the OTT cases he has handled with his Task Force members in the last few years, so he is not wrongly also nicknamed the OTT King," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK has officially dismissed tens of its employees with respect last September 30. They were dismissed because they could not become ASN according to the mandate of the KPK Law Number 19 of 2019.

The employees include senior KPK investigators Novel Baswedan and Ambarita Damanik, Chairman of the KPK Employee Forum Yudi Purnomo, KPK investigator Harun Al-Rasyid, and dozens of other names.

In addition, there was also a young investigator, Lakso Anindito, who failed after taking a follow-up test because he had just finished his assignment. The KPK argued that they could not become ASN, not because of laws and regulations such as Perkom KPK Number 1 of 2021, but because of the results of their assessment in the TWK.

After being dismissed, a number of former employees then swerved from their old profession. In fact, based on data held by the former Chairman of the KPK Employee Forum, Yudi Purnomo Harahap, seven former employees chose to do business.

They are former investigator, Ronald Paul Sinya; former Youth Public Relations Specialist, Ita Khoiriyah or Tata; former functional Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Legal Bureau, Juliandi Tigor Simanjuntak to former Corruption Detection and Analysis officer, Panji Prianggoro.
