JAKARTA - Head of Sub Directorate of Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Argo Wiyono said the BMW driver who hit the police on Jalan Sisingamangaraja, South Jakarta has been named a suspect.

RI, a BMW driver, is guilty of hitting A (the initials of the policeman who was hit), who was on duty in the Crowd Free Night (CFN) area, early Sunday, October 10.

"The status has been upgraded to a suspect," said Argo Wiyono, Monday, October 11.

RI was named a suspect after investigators examined a number of witnesses and evidence.

"After 2 days of the incident, on Sunday, the relevant examination was carried out and examined the witnesses and then met sufficient evidence," explained Argo.

However, despite being named a suspect, the police did not arrest RI. Argo said, the decision was because RI was cooperative during the examination.

"In this case, the legal status is less than 5 years and the person concerned is cooperative and his family guarantees it. While we can't hold it, we are obliged to report it," said Argo.

Based on the results of the information, the suspect's identity was a person who had just graduated from college and had just started working. Police have also conducted urine tests on the perpetrators.

"We have checked the urine, there are no indications of alcohol or drugs," he said.

RI has been charged with Article 283 junto 310 paragraph 2 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation (LLAJ). At that time, the driver of the BMW B 1157 SSl driven by RI drove from the south to the north on Jalan Sisingamangaraja, South Jakarta. The driver is suspected of not being careful and concentrating. In addition, the driver also ignored the officers' instructions.
