JAKARTA – Again, a 10-year-old child drowned in the East Jakarta Flood Canal (BKT), Sunday, October 10. The victim was identified as Ziad, a resident of Duren Sawit, who was not far from the scene.

According to witnesses, Ziad drowned because he was out of breath when he was about to pull over, while his friends were able to pull over.

"Initially the victim swam with 3 friends. Three people managed to pull over, but the victim could not drown," said the Duren Sawit firefighter team commander, East Jakarta Wahyudi, Sunday, October 10.

After receiving reports from residents, his party rushed to the scene and immediately combed the KBT stream to look for victims using rubber boats.
