The man is Alfitra Kidzi Mahirza (22), a resident of Jalan Rambutan Dalam RT 043/011, Kelurahan 30 Ilir, District Ilir Barat 1, Palembang. He is thought to have committed suicide by jumping off the mall's rooftop.
A witness Ahmad (42) at the crime scene (TKP) said he received a complaint from a mother who was passing through the area regarding a man falling from the roof of a building and lying on the street covered in blood.
The witness, who is a worker at the mall, immediately reported the incident to his manager and reported it to the local police officers.

The identification team immediately evacuated the bodies to the Forensic Installation of Bhayangkara M Hasan Hospital Palembang for a post-mortem.
