Social Minister Risma Coordinates To The Ministry Of Public Works And Public Housing To Repair Luwu River Channels Damaged By Floods

LUWU - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini will coordinate with the Ministry of PUPR and the Ministry of Communications and Informatics to repair river channels and telecommunications networks damaged by floods and landslides in Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi.

This was stated by the Minister of Social Affairs Risma during a working visit to review the disaster location in Walenrang District, Luwu Regency. At the disaster site, the Minister of Social Affairs and his entourage went around and looked closely at the infrastructure damaged by floods and landslides.

According to Risma, these two things need to be handled immediately so that people can return to their normal activities.

The Minister of Social Affairs also reviewed the soup kitchen run by Tagana which supplies ready-to-eat food for disaster survivors. The Minister of Social Affairs also visited health posts, logistical shelters and the needs of the victims.

To the local community, the Minister of Social Affairs expressed his deep condolences for the victims who died. The Minister of Social Affairs motivates families to be steadfast and sincere in accepting trials.

The Minister of Social Affairs stated that the central, regional and related agencies are working to help ease the burden on the community.

"Hopefully the condition will recover soon, and the community can return to their activities," he said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 6.

Social Minister Risma also provided compensation to 4 heirs of the victims who died as a result of the disaster that occurred on Sunday, October 3, each amounting to Rp15 million, bringing the total to Rp60 million.

The Ministry of Social Affairs has been present since the disaster occurred through Tagana, by distributing aid. From the Makassar Regional Warehouse, aid was distributed in the form of 300 packages of ready-to-eat food, 600 packages of children's food, 200 sheets of mattresses, 200 sheets of blankets, 200 packages of family kids, 200 packages of red roll tents, and one unit of rubber boat. The total value of this assistance is Rp306,036,300.

Then from the Social Service Warehouse of South Sulawesi Province in the form of 100 packages of children's food, 181 packages of ready-to-eat food, 50 packages of mattresses, 70 red rolled tents, blankets: 15 sheets, 30 mattresses, 15 packages of family kitchen utensils, 25 packages of food ware, family kits. 100 packs, kids ware 50 packs. With an assistance value of IDR 138,499,123.

Of the two aids, the total assistance distributed was Rp. 504,535,423.
