JAKARTA - A woman with the initials SJ (29), a civil servant from one of the government agencies in Riau was arrested by the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) team at her boarding house. SJ is suspected of conducting drug transactions in the form of paper like postage stamps.
"Initially, BNN officers received information about the delivery of a new type of narcotics in the form of postage stamps. Then, officers carried out an investigation," said BNN Riau Head Brigadier General Robinson BP Siregar in Pekanbaru, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, October 5.
Robinson explained that the drug in the form of a postage stamp contains Bromo Dimethoxyphenyl 2-CB. During the transaction, SJ uses a cryptocurrency or bitcoin payment instrument.
Brigadier General Robinson said, to facilitate the investigation process, the BNN team collaborated with Avsec airport and BNN with security at Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport Pekanbaru and found 58 bloters (sheets). The illicit goods will be sent through an expedition service and detected by X-rays at the airport.
"From there, the BNN team immediately carried out development and looked for the person who sent the package and finally the investigation resulted in the officers being able to arrest SJ," he said.
"SJ was arrested while sending a package of books containing the drug stamps as many as 9 bloters and he sent them through the expedition office on Jalan Senapelan, Pekanbaru City," continued Robinson.
SJ was then led to show him where he lived. The Riau BNN team then conducted a search of the boarding house of the perpetrator SJ. In fact, there were also 46 drug bloters found in the form of postage-like paper with a total of 113 bloters.
"These narcotics are marketed using social media by SJ. The perpetrators have sent these narcotics 15 times to several regions in Indonesia," he said.
The perpetrator was then secured and detained at the Riau BNN office along with evidence in the form of Bromo dimethoxyphenyl 2-CB or LSD which was successfully revealed by the Riau BNN as a new type of narcotic that is rarely found.
"This narcotic has an extraordinary effect, it can cause high hallucinations and permanent damage to the brain if for men it has an impact on vitality," he said.
