Governor Edy: North Sumatra Is No Longer PPKM Level 4

MEDAN - North Sumatra Governor (Gubsu) Edy Rahmayadi said there were no areas with level 4 COVID-19 status. However, the public is asked to remain vigilant about the virus.

"With no more areas in North Sumatra with level 4 status, then PPKM (Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions) level 4 no longer exists," said Governor Edy in Medan, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, October 5.

The governor said, in accordance with the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 48 of 2021, in line with the no longer level 4 areas in North Sumatra, then PPKM level 4 also no longer exists.

North Sumatra currently only has level 3 and level 2 status areas.

Level 3 districts/cities are in Binjai City and Padangsidimpuan City.

There are also levels 2, namely Central Tapanuli, North Tapanuli, South Tapanuli, Nias, Langkat, Karo, Simalungun, Asahan, Labuhanbatu, Dairi, Toba Samosir, Mandailing Natal, South Nias.

Then Pakpak Bharat, Humbang Hasundutan, Samosir, Serdangbedagai, Batubara, North Padanglawas, Padanglawas, South Labuhanbatu, North Labuhanbatu, North Nias, Medan City, Pematangsiantar, Tanjungbalai, and Gunungsitoli.

Meanwhile at level 1, Deliserdang Regency, West Nias, Sibolga City and Tebingtinggi.

"Covid-19 cases in North Sumatra continue to decline. As of October 4, 2021, daily positive cases were 36 cases, bringing the number of active cases to 1,334 and one death," said Governor Edy.

Although cases of COVID-19 sufferers continue to fall, residents are asked to remain vigilant considering the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing.

"The government itself continues to try to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, among others, by continuing to carry out COVID-29 vaccinations," continued Gubsu Edy.

The percentage of the first dose of vaccination in North Sumatra has reached 34.91 percent and the second dose is 19.90 percent.
