Central Sulawesi Governor Rusdy Mastura Asks Local Government To Hold Face-to-Face Learning

PALU - Central Sulawesi Governor, Rusdy Mastura, asked district and city governments in his area to immediately implement face-to-face learning in schools because the transmission of COVID-19 has subsided.

"Regional heads at the district/city level should continue to optimize the implementation of PTM at the school, Madrasah, and so on", he said in Palu City, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, October 5.

He reminded that the implementation of face-to-face learning (PTM) in education units must refer to government regulations regarding the implementation of teaching and learning activities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Schools that are face-to-face, but limited, are carried out based on the SKB of the four ministers", he said referring to the Joint Decree of the Ministers of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology; Minister of Health; Minister of Religion; and the Minister of Home Affairs regarding guidelines for the implementation of education during the pandemic.

The governor said that according to government regulations, the regions implementing the implementation of the Level 2 and 3 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) could hold limited face-to-face learning.

Regions in Central Sulawesi that implement PPKM Level 2, according to him, include the city of Palu and the districts of Donggala, Toli-Toli, Morowali, Banggai Islands, Parigi Moutong, Tojo Una Una, Sigi, and North Morowali.

Meanwhile, Banggai, Poso, Buol, and Banggai Laut Regencies are still in the PPKM Level 3.

The governor emphasized that in the PPKM Level 2 and 3 areas, teaching and learning activities in schools must be carried out by prioritizing the health and safety of students as well as educators and education staff.

Health protocols must be implemented in teaching and learning activities in schools. "This should not be slack", said the governor.
