JAKARTA - The Mount Bromo tourist area, in East Java, which opened on September 6, 2021, will again be closed to tourists from October 5, 2021, until an undetermined time.

Head of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Center, Novita Kusuma Wardani, in Malang City, East Java, Tuesday said that the re-closure of the Bromo tourist area refers to the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Nomot 47 of 2021.

"All-natural tourist attractions in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park area will be completely closed starting October 5, 2021, until further announcements", said Novita, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, October 5.

The Head of the Data, Evaluation, Reporting, and Public Relations Sub-Division of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Center (TNBTS), Sarif Hidayat added, the closure of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park area was not due to the emergence of a cluster of COVID-19 spread after it was opened some time ago.

"There is no (COVID-19 cluster), the closure (TNBTS) refers to the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs", he said.
