TNI 76th Anniversary, Mahfud MD: Keep Being A Humble Soldier

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD hopes that National Armed Forces (TNI) soldiers will continue to be professional, disciplined, militant, and humble. This statement was conveyed in welcoming the 76th Anniversary of the TNI which is commemorated today, Tuesday, October 5.

"Regards, the Indonesian National Army remains a professional, disciplined, militant, and humble soldier," Mahfud said in the video description.

He said that so far the TNI had guarded the country's defense with full loyalty to Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.

Not only that, but TNI soldiers are also fighting for the prosperity of the country and the welfare of the people according to the sapta marga and the oath of soldiers. Including helping the government deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thus, the former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) hopes that the soldiers will continue to do their work, especially in handling the pandemic.

"Continue the contribution of the TNI in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic," said Mahfud.

Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said the people and the state gave the highest appreciation to the ranks of the TNI who have always been the main guardians of the nation's sovereignty. Not only that, he said that the TNI has always shown its professionalism in every assignment given.

This was conveyed when he led the commemoration ceremony of the 76th TNI Anniversary at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

"Individual abilities, the ability of units to utilize science and technology, including defense equipment, have been used and deployed in carrying out any given task," Jokowi said in his mandate when he became a ceremony inspector which was broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Tuesday, October 5.

For this reason, Jokowi later said that Indonesia's success in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic could not be separated from the participation of the TNI.

"Our success in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic cannot be separated from the great role of the TNI," he said.
