Hunting For Spreading The Issue Of Abock Busup's Death, The Cause Of Yahukimo's 'Bleeding'

JAKARTA - The chaos behind the attack on the Kimyal tribe against the Yali was triggered by the issue of the cause of the death of former Yahukimo Regent Abock Busup in an unnatural way. In fact, the issue is not proven true.

In fact, as a result of the riots, six people were killed and dozens were injured.

The police who intervened in handling this matter presented all the results of the investigation. Starting from the cause of Abock Busup's death to taking action against those who spread rumors.

Died Unnaturally

Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, stated that one of the factors that caused the inter-tribal attack to occur was the issue of Abok Busup dying in an unnatural way. Thus, igniting the emotions of one of the tribes to finally attack.

"It was rumored there, rumors were spread about clashes or attacks on the GIDI Dekai Church because of the death of Abock Busup's brother," Rusdi told reporters, Monday, October 4.

Based on the information, said Rusdi, the issues circulating started from victims of violence or other things. In fact, from the results of the temporary investigation, there is no criminal element behind the death of Abock Busup.

"Perhaps there were rumors that it was not true that his death was due to something unnatural. Maybe that was what developed there. Therefore, we need to explain why Abock Busup died," said Rusdi.

Cause of Death

Abock Busuf breathed his last in room 1707 of the Grand Mercure Hotel, Central Jakarta, on October 3. The results of the investigation did not reveal any acts of violence.

"There were also no signs of violence around the victim's body," said Rusdi.

In addition, the results of the crime scene (TKP) also did not find an unnatural cause of death. For example, drug overdose or so on.

"Also no other objects, drugs, etc. were found, these were also not found," he continued.

However, the cause of Abock Busup's death is yet to be ascertained. Because, to make sure it has to go through the autopsy process.

However, Abock Busup's family did not allow an autopsy to be performed. The family considers it all fate.

"This is still being investigated. Because an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of Busup's death," said Rusdi.

"The family itself objected (the autopsy) and residents stated that they had accepted this as a destiny and the family would also explain to other families and even the people in Yahukimo," Rusdi continued.

On the other hand, Rusdi stated that Abock Busup's presence at the hotel was only to rest. Because Abock Busup will attend an event in Bali and transit in Jakarta.

"In the context of having activities in Bali. Before going to Bali, he transited to Jakarta, spent the night, and on the 3rd (October) he was found dead," said Rusdi.

Hurry up the Issuer

On the other hand, the National Police, especially the Papuan Regional Police who handled the case, stated that they would hunt down those who spread the issue that was the cause of the clashes between the two tribes in Yahukimo, Papua. In the hunt, dozens of witnesses have been examined.

"It is being investigated (spreading the issue)," said Rusdi.

The results of the temporary investigation have not led to the spread of the issue. But it is known the tribe that carried out the attack.

"Now the groups that carried out the attack have been identified by the Papua Police and are working on this case," said Rusdi.

In addition, in the process of disclosing the case, the Papuan Police have examined 56 witnesses. In the near future, the police called Rusdi will determine the suspect.

"There are still around 56 people who are being asked for information. We'll just have to wait for news from the Papuan Police on how many people have been named suspects in the attack case," said Rusdi.
