Mud Raid At Sunter River Targets 17,920 M3

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government continues to carry out efforts to prevent inundation with the Mud Raid program. After the Mookevart River, it is Sunter River's turn to be dredged, to be precise, in the front segment of the Rawa Badak Pump which is 495 meters long, and in front of Artha Gading which is 210 meters long.

"Of course this dredging activity will have a direct impact on all of us. In particular, the mud raids in these two segments are carried out to prevent inundation in surrounding locations, namely at 14 RT and 15,700 m2 of the area closest to the dredged watershed," he said. Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Water Resources Service, Yusmada Faizal, Sunday, October 3.

The Mud Raid in North Jakarta was deployed with 3 large amphibians, 2 long arm excavators, 1 standard excavator in the front segment of the Rawa Badak Pump, then 2 large amphibians and 2 long arm excavators in the front segment of Artha Gading, so that the total heavy equipment 10 units, as well as 18 dump trucks for both locations.

"In this mud raid, we are targeting to be able to dredge 17,920 m3 in the Rawa Badak segment and 8,400 m3 in the Artha Gading segment. Later the dredged mud obtained will be disposed of at our dumpsite, for the Rawa Badak Pump segment in the Beting area and the Artha Gading segment in Ancol area," explained Yusmada.

The Mud Raid activity in North Jakarta was carried out collaboratively across Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD). These include the Mayor of North Jakarta Administration, the Camat, Lurah (PPSU), North Jakarta Environmental Service Sub-department, North Jakarta Highways Sub-dept., North Jakarta Park Service Sub-dept., and Water Agency UPK.

"Hopefully with this Grebek Lumpur (Mud Raid) activity, the community will be helped in handling flood problems. Therefore, let's all collaborate to deal with flood problems in Jakarta. We can start from the simplest, namely not littering," he concluded.
