Police Plan To Invite Novel Baswedan Et Al, Argo Yuwono: Just Wait, It Takes Time

JAKARTA - The National Police plans to invite Novel Baswedan and 56 former KPK employees who did not pass the National Insight Test (TWK). This invitation follows the plan of the Bhayangkara Corps to recruit them to become National Police ASN.

The Head of the National Police Public Relations Division, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, when confirmed, was not willing to tell when the meeting was planned. His party is still processing and designing a recruitment mechanism by Polri's HR.

"Just wait to be informed, it will take time," said Argo in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, October 3.

The National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, announced his intention to recruit 57 former KPK employees who did not pass the TWK as the National Civil Service Apparatus (ASN).

The National Police Chief's intention has been approved by President Joko Widodo in a written reply to a letter sent by the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) on Monday, September 27.

The track record of former KPK employees who did not pass the TWK became the Police's belief in recruiting to become Polri ASN to strengthen the fields in the Bhayangkara Corps, especially the Directorate of Corruption Crimes at the Polri Criminal Investigation Department.

After the announcement, the National Police Chief appointed an HR Assistant to communicate and coordinate with the Ministry of State Civil Apparatus Empowerment (Menpan-RB) and the State Civil Service Agency (BKN). After these efforts are completed, then the National Police plans to invite the 57 former KPK employees.

Until now the coordination process is still running, as well as the recruitment mechanism is being designed considering that the 57 former KPK employees come from different positions, not all investigators, including the harmonization of the rules.

In a video interview with the Head of the Police Public Relations Division distributed by the Public Relations Division of the Police on Friday, Argo said the Police were serious about recruiting 57 former KPK employees, due to the need for organization and track record to strengthen police efforts in eradicating corruption.

Argo also promised to convey further developments to the community after the coordination and harmonization process carried out by the National Police HR Assistant Inspector General Wahyu Widada was completed.

Meanwhile, on September 30, 2021, as many as 57 KPK employees who did not pass the TWK were respectfully dismissed by the KPK.

The dismissed KPK employees came from various levels of office ranging from deputy, director to functional employees and investigators such as Novel Baswedan, Yudi Purnomo, Rizka Anungata, Harun Al Rasyid, Budi Agung Nugroho and other names.
