Pemalak Pond Boss Rp1 Million Per Month In Probolinggo Arrested, Often Threatens To Poison Shrimp If Not Given Money

PROBOLINGGO - Police arrested Suparno (43) who stole shrimp and stabbed the owner of a pond in Paiton District, Probolinggo, East Java.

The victim in this case is Sa'id, who owns a shrimp pond in Randutatah Village, Paiton District.

The Probolinggo Police Chief AKBP Teuku Arsya Gaddafi said the perpetrator had stolen the victim's shrimp pond 13 times.

In addition to stealing, the perpetrators also ask for a monthly tribute of around Rp. 1 million to the owner of the pond. If not paid, the perpetrator threatened to poison the shrimp.

"So if the monthly salary of Rp. 1 million is not immediately given, the perpetrators immediately commit acts of theft and poisoning," said AKBP Teuku Arsya, Friday, October 1.

Meanwhile, Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Probolinggo Police, AKP Rahmad Ridho Satri, said the perpetrators were not pond workers.

It's just that the perpetrators come to the pond owner and ask for wages every month, just like the pond workers.

"The perpetrator told the owner that he was guarding the pond, then asked for wages every month. This is a bad deed," he explained.

Uneasy with the perpetrator's behavior, the owner of the pond reported it to the police. The report was then followed up, by conducting an investigation.

"After processing the TKP (the crime scene), shrimp were found scattered on the ground, and headed for the perpetrator's house. As a result, the perpetrator was arrested," he said.
