Robbery Perpetrators Who Killed Ojol Passengers In Kayu Putih Successfully Arrested In Cakung Area, East Jakarta

JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit managed to arrest Dikky Adi Saputra alias Putra (25) in a house in the Cakung area, East Jakarta.

Putra was one of the robbers who killed an online motorcycle taxi passenger on Jalan Kayu Putih Raya, Kayu Putih Village, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the East Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Indra Tarigan, said that from the arrest of the perpetrators of the robbery, evidence of motorbikes and cellphones was confiscated.

The mugging that killed Risty Atthahya (25), a female online motorcycle taxi passenger, had gone viral on social media.

Not only motorcycle taxi passengers who died, an online motorcycle taxi driver named Saiful Ramdan (52) also suffered a broken leg.

"The perpetrator was arrested at the Venus Complex, Grinding, Cakung. The perpetrator was charged with Article 365 of the Criminal Code," said Commissioner Indra to VOI, Friday, October 1.

Previously, it was reported that another sadistic mugging took place in the Kayu Putih area, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta.

As a result of this incident, the victim of an online motorcycle taxi passenger died after falling from the motorcycle she was riding.

It was later discovered that the victim was named Risty, from Aceh. The victim's head hit the pavement after falling from the motorcycle he was riding.

The victim died after several hours of treatment at the RSCM. Meanwhile, the online motorcycle taxi driver suffered a broken left leg.

Pulogadung Police Chief AKP David Richardo Hutasoit confirmed the existence of street crimes in his area.

"It is true that there was a robbery incident that occurred on Sunday, September 26 at around 04.30 WIB. The mugging victim used an online motorcycle taxi from the Cipete area to Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta," he explained.

However, when the online motorcycle taxi that the victim was riding crossed in the Kayu Putih area, it turned out that the perpetrators were following the victim. When the street was empty, the perpetrator immediately took the victim's belongings.

"The victim was followed by the unknown perpetrator, the perpetrator tried to take the victim's belongings. There was a tug-of-war, based on the online motorcycle taxi driver's statement that the victim wanted to keep his belongings," said the police chief.

When there was a tug of war between the victim and the perpetrator of the robbery, the motorbike which was then followed by the online motorcycle taxi then went out of control or swayed uncontrollably. The motorbike then overturned and hit the pavement.

"So the victim suffered a head injury and the online motorcycle taxi suffered a broken right leg. We went to the crime scene to take the victim and the online motorcycle taxi driver to the RSCM for treatment," he said.

However, several hours of intensive treatment, the victim breathed his last.

"A few hours later the doctor at the hospital said that the victim died. While the online motorcycle taxi is still under medical treatment," said the police chief.
