BOLAANG MONGONDOW - Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini visited the location of a flash flood in Batu Merah Village, Sangklikang District, Bolaang Mongondow Regency.

Social Minister Risma's entourage arrived at the disaster site after traveling by land for about four hours after a working visit in Gorontalo.

At the disaster site, Minister Risma saw the condition of the bridges and river channels that contributed to causing the overflow of water that carried mud, sand, stones and trees to inundate the residents' settlements.

After that, Risma together with the Regent Yasti Soepredjo and related staff saw the embankment building in the river channel that had collapsed, the kindergarten, elementary and junior high school buildings being built in one location.

The Minister of Social Affairs then headed to the tent where there were more than forty children victims of the flash flood who received psychosocial support from the main Tagana and other parties.

At the location, Social Minister Risma handed over assistance to residents affected by flash floods.

"So the regent has prepared more save land to build houses for residents, the TNI and police will also assist," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, September 30.

Risma emphasized that the priority thing that must be done after the flood in the village is the construction of a safety building in the river channel so that unwanted things don't happen in the future.

"I will convey it to the relevant ministries," he said.
