The decision was read out by the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP Puan Maharani in the Phase II Announcement of 45 Regional Head Candidates for Concurrent Pilkada.

Gibran is the eldest son of President Jokowi, who previously served as Mayor of Solo for two terms.
Through a teleconference, Gibran admitted that he was grateful for getting a recommendation to advance in the 2020 Pilwalkot from the Chairperson of PDIP, Megawati Soekarnoputri.
"This recommendation for me is an honor as well as a responsibility to be able to win the 2020 Surakarta Pilkada contest," said Gibran.
After receiving a recommendation from the party, he will immediately carry out intensive communication, coordination and consolidation within the ranks of the branch, sub-branch administrators, to the DPC PDI Perjuangan Solo City with his partner.
