Ganjar Receives A Special Invitation From The Chancellor Of Uncen, Asked To Give Lectures To Students

JAKARTA - The Chancellor of the University of Cendrawasih, Apolo Safanpo, specially invited the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo to come to Papua. Apolo hopes that Ganjar will take the time to give a public lecture.

"If he has sufficient time while in Jayapura, he can give a public lecture at the University of Cendrawasih," said Apolo at the official residence of the Governor of Central Java (Puri Gedeh), Monday evening, September 27.

Apolo came to Ganjar's official residence to discuss many things with Ganjar regarding education, as well as the conditions of lectures at Uncen during the pandemic.

When saying goodbye, Apolo gave a pair of Cendrawasih Bird patterned batik. He hopes that the batik will be brought and worn by Ganjar when he is present at the opening of the XX Papua PON on 2 October.

"We gave him Papuan batik. If later he is willing to attend the opening of the XX PON in Papua, or at the Cendrawasih University campus so that he can use Papuan batik," said Apolo.

Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo expressed his appreciation to the Uncen Chancellor who specifically invited him to attend Papua. Ganjar also returned the gift by giving the original striated batik cloth of Klaten Regency.

"I have lurik (batik cloth) from Klaten. So they are designed to be more modern. Later, if you make clothes, the lurik in traditional clothes are still rough, now they can be woven so it is much better. This is for the Chancellor to be able to sew himself ” said Ganjar.
