JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria emphasized that the DKI Provincial Government is still waiting for the certainty of the phase of easing large-scale activities, including music concerts.

Riza's statement was in response to the government's decision to allow large-scale activities under certain conditions.

“Still not yet, we are waiting, the easing has stages, not all are immediately opened, it is relaxed. Now the easing has stages, it must be in line with the progress of the vaccine, the second is in line with the decline in COVID-19, just starting to add and increase the easing. So be patient," said Deputy Governor of DKI Riza Patria to reporters, Monday, September 27.

Riza when asked by reporters, confirmed that the relaxation of activities referred to by the central government was also related to karaoke entertainment.

"Yes, including karaoke we will also discuss," he said.

Previously, the government said it would allow the implementation of large activities with the obligation to follow the guidelines that have been set, as an effort to accelerate the recovery of the national economy, especially in the tourism sector.

Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G Plate said the policy was taken after considering the need to accommodate community activities so that they remain productive but also safe from COVID-19.

"The government can now give permission to hold large-scale events and meetings that involve many people, as long as they comply with the implementation guidelines that have been set," said Minister Johnny.

Efforts to restore the tourism sector are expected to be the engine of economic activity and have a positive derivative impact on other sectors.

Large-scale activities in question are activities that involve a large number of participants or invitees from various places, such as conferences, trade fairs, sporting events, concert festivals, parties, or large wedding events.

The League 1 and League 2 football competitions, as well as the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON) this year are examples of large-scale activities being carried out.

"Of course, the implementation of the two major events has been through discussions with various parties to reduce the risk of transmitting the virus," said Minister Johnny.
