Called To Replace Azis Syamsuddin As Deputy Speaker Of The House Of Representatives, Lodewijk Assets IDR 12.4 Billion

JAKARTA - The Secretary-General of the Golkar Party, Lodewijk Freidrich Paulus, is expected to be the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives to replace Azis Syamsuddin who was detained by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Then how much wealth does Lodewijk have? Based on the State Administrators Wealth Report (LHKPN) uploaded by the KPK, he is recorded to have assets of IDR 12,400,425,485 and is not recorded as having debt.

However, Lodewijk last reported LHKPN on June 14, 2019, or when he was a legislative candidate.

In the report, he listed several property holdings. Lodewijk reported ownership of five assets in the form of land and buildings located in Magelang; Minahasa, South Jakarta, and Bogor with a value of IDR 7,759,000,000.

Next, he recorded ownership of assets in the form of transportation equipment, which consisted of one 2006 Toyota Camry sedan worth IDR 120 million; 2015 Mercedes Benz E200 sedan worth IDR 400 million; 2015 Toyota Vellfire minibus worth IDR 400 million; and a 2013 Toyota Prado minibus worth IDR 600 million.

In addition, Lodewijk also recorded ownership of motorcycles consisting of a 2011 Kawasaki with a value of IDR 10 million; Harley Davidson 2013 worth IDR 100 million; and Husqvarna 2014 worth IDR 40 million.

Other assets listed by him are the ownership of other movable property valued at IDR 2,225,950,000 and cash equivalents which amounted to IDR 445,475,485.

As previously reported, Lodewijk's name was strengthened to fill the position of House of Representatives leadership replacing Azis Syamsuddin. Moreover, the chairman of Golkar, Firman Soebagyo, explained that his party had already held a meeting to discuss Azis' resignation.

"Last week, we had a limited meeting that decided the issue of Mr. Azis for resigning, not being dismissed", said Firman at the House of Representatives Building, Monday, September 27.

"In the end, the prerogative of the general chairman was determined and everyone agreed on it because there should not be a vacancy", he continued.

Firman did not say for sure about the news. However, he acknowledged that the name had been agreed upon. Including the matter of changing the Deputy of Golkar.

"Yes (determined by Lodewijk-ed), regarding the replacement of the second Vice-chairman in the field of Politics, Law, and Security, Mr. Adies. In the social sector, because Mr. Lungkono was the ambassador, I replaced the Vice-Chancellor for social affairs. The three decisions were the same as what was decided", said Firman.

"God willing, there will be a plenary meeting tonight at the Central Board", he added.
