JAKARTA - The DPR RI passed 37 Draft Laws (RUU) for the 2020 Priority Prolegnas, the results of the evaluation of the DPR Legislation Body and the government. The ratification was carried out in a plenary meeting for the closing of the fourth session of 2020.

In the plenary session, Chairman of the Legislation Body (Baleg) DPR Supratman Andi Agtas explained the achievements of the discussion of the Bill. According to him, there were 50 bills in the Priority Prolegnas that had previously been agreed that could not be implemented due to various obstacles. Including obstacles due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"For this reason, the Legislation Body together with the Minister of Law and Human Rights and the Indonesian Parliament in the framework of evaluating the 2020 Priority Prolegnas agreed to reduce 16 draft bills for 2020 priority bills," said Supratman when submitting his report at the plenary meeting held at the DPR RI Building, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Thursday, July 16.

Hearing the report from Andi, Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Parliament, Sufmi Dasco, who chaired the session then asked for the approval of the session participants regarding the 2020 Priority Prolegnas evaluation.

"Can the Baleg report on the evaluation results of the implementation of the national legislation program for priority bills be approved?" asked Dasco.

"Agreed," answered the board members present. Next Dasco tapped the hammer of approval.

Furthermore, in relation to the Draft Law (RUU) on the Elimination of Sexual Violence (PKS) which was previously revoked by Commission VIII of the Indonesian Parliament, Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Parliament Sufmi Dasco Ahmad said that his party would include the draft legislation in the 2021 Priority Prolegnas.

According to him, this decision was based on the results of the Consultation Meeting to replace the DPR's Deliberative Council (Bamus) on Wednesday, July 15 yesterday. "The results of the Consultation Meeting of the Legislation Body and the leadership as well as the Consultation Meeting to replace Bamus, we will enter the law (RUU PKS, red) in (Prolegnas, red) Priority 2021 and it was decided yesterday," he said.
