GANYAR - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno encourages the development of the performing arts sub-sector in Gianyar Regency, Bali, through the Indonesian Creative Regency/City (KaTa) program.

According to him, Gianyar has been designated as one of ten Indonesian Creative Regencies/Cities in 2019 by having three superior sub-sectors, namely performing arts, crafts, and culinary. The performing arts sub-sector is the most affected due to the restrictions on activities during the PPKM period.

"We have an assistance program for tourism businesses, including the performance sector, the government will try to be present on target, right on benefit, and on time, we will support in a hybrid form in events which will later be broadcast through our Youtube channel," said Sandiaga Uno in Gianyar quoted by Antara, Saturday, September 25.

Sandiaga said that his party supports the performing arts sector to be superior in Gianyar so that it needs to be increased to open up the widest possible employment opportunities for the community and can become one of the leading attractions for tourism attractions.

Therefore, according to him, there needs to be collaboration from stakeholders in order to increase the potential of the creative economy sector.

"With the increase in the creative economy in Indonesia, this is a great opportunity for the emergence of new businesses or businesses that help solve the problem of unemployment in Indonesia," he said.

"Of course, collaboration and cooperation are needed to encourage the rise of Indonesia's creative economy, especially in Gianyar," said Sandiaga Uno.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy continues to make efforts to develop performing arts through relevant programs and activities, such as conditioning a conducive climate for organizing events in the midst of a pandemic through the Directorate of Event Organizers on a regional, national and even international scale.

In addition, activities such as Creative From Home in the form of a stimulus program for creative and creative actors to remain productive working from home; AKSILARASI (Action, Harmony, Synergy) in the form of assistance in the creation and utilization of creative products in the fields of music, performing arts, fine arts, and publishing in super priority destinations and also through the Kata Kreatif workshop.

Through these various activities, it is hoped that the participants can increase their insight and creative thinking, so that they can continue to work with materials on creativity, business modeling, digital promotion, and financial and capital management.
