JAKARTA - The Head of the DKI Environmental Agency, Syaripudin, said that he was still discussing the extension of the cooperation agreement (PKS) for the Bantargebang Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST) with the Bekasi City Government.
In this contract extension, Bekasi asked for an increase in the compensation fund given by the DKI Provincial Government. Syaripudin gave a signal that the request would be fulfilled.
"There is a team to discuss the compensation issue. Of course, the request from the Bekasi City Government has been approved by the DKI Provincial Government because the discussion is mutually understanding, which is seen by both parties," Syaripudin said when contacted, Friday, September 24.
In principle, said Syaripudin, the components in the PKS will be accommodated as long as they are included in the issue of environmental restoration, infrastructure, and compensation fund assistance.
"As for the components of the PKS, everything is accommodated. Regarding environmental recovery and financial assistance, we have accommodated all of that. We have been doing that for a long time with others included in the five scope items in the collaboration between the Bekasi City Government and the DKI Provincial Government," he said.

As previously reported, the Head of the Bekasi City Environment Agency, Yayan Yuliana, said that his party is currently discussing the plan to extend the waste management contract with the DKI Provincial Government.
However, Bekasi asked for an increase in compensation funds or tipping fees from the DKI Provincial Government. Bekasi wants the compensation fund to increase by 100 percent from the previous year's agreement
"In our calculations, yesterday it was calculated at almost IDR 385 billion. Maybe in the future, it could increase by 100 percent, maybe to IDR 800 billion. However, the exact figure has not been determined," Yayan said when contacted, Tuesday, September 21.
The nominal increase in compensation funds, said Yayan, is calculated from the planned increase in odor compensation to around 18 thousand residents who live in 3 urban villages in the Bantar Gebang TPST environment.
In addition, an increase in compensation funds is needed to improve infrastructure with more environmentally friendly technology.
In addition to the increase in compensation funds, the Bekasi City Government asked DKI to realize the construction of a waste power plant (PLTSa) as well as efforts to repair the environmental damage caused.
"For the PLTSa development plan, if the waste is not destroyed, it will continue to build up. Then, the issue of environmental improvement is also our concern," said Yayan.
