Surabaya Mayor's Kitchen Budget Is Bigger Than Walkot, DPRD: Maybe Pak Armuji Receives Guests More Often

JAKARTA - Member of Commission A for Law and Government of the Surabaya DPRD, Imam Syafii, questioned the budget for the kitchen of the Deputy Mayor of Surabaya Armuji's office, which was greater than the budget for the Mayor of Surabaya Eri Cahyadi in the discussion of the 2021 Surabaya Regional Budget Amendment.

"We only found out about this during a meeting to discuss the 2021 Surabaya APBD Changes with the General Section of the Surabaya City Government yesterday (22/9)," said Imam Syafii in Surabaya, Thursday.

According to him, the budget for kitchen spending at the official residence of the Mayor of Surabaya Eri Cahyadi is Rp. 348 million, while the budget for the kitchen of the Deputy Mayor of Surabaya Armuji is Rp. 442 million. The difference is around Rp. 94 million.

"Perhaps Mr. Wawali often receives guests at the official residence, so the budget is bigger," he said as quoted by Antara.

Imam also highlighted the budget for VIP wreaths shared between the Mayor of Surabaya and the Deputy Mayor of Surabaya, which increased from Rp. 825 million to Rp. 1.2 billion.

"In the past, the mayor used greeting flowers more often, while his deputy rarely used them," said Imam.

However, according to Imam, the overall use of the budget in the General Section of the Surabaya City Government decreased by Rp. 24 billion, from the original pure APBD of Rp. 93 billion, down to Rp. 68.6 billion in the APBD-P.

In addition, Imam also briefly asked about the budget of the Surabaya PKK, where in the previous period the chairman of the PKK was held by his wife, the secretary of the city of Surabaya, Hendrio Gunawan, but now the wife of the mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi, has served.

"According to the General Section, the PKK is not budgeted for, but only supports activities. If there are activities, an SPJ is made," said Imam.
