Sad News Again From Papua, Pratu Abdi Dies During Shooting With KKB In Kiwirok

JAKARTA - Sad news has returned from Papua. One of the TNI soldiers, Pratu Ida Bagus Putu, a member of Infantry Battalion 403/WP, died in Kiwirok.

Pratu Ida Bagus Putu was involved in a gun battle with the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Kiwirok, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua, Tuesday, September 21 this morning.

This sad news was confirmed by Dandim 1715 Yahukimo Lt. Col. Inf. Kristian Irreuw. Pratu Ida Bagus Putu died during a shootout with the KKB led by Lamek Taplo.

The victim's body has been evacuated along with the body of the health worker Gabriela Meilan by using a helicopter belonging to Penerbad.

The helicopter then landed at the Makodam XVII Cenderawasih field. Pratu Ida Bagus Putu's body was taken to Marthen Indey Hospital Jayapura.

Gabriela Meilan's body, said Dandim, was also taken to Marthen Indey Hospital for an autopsy before being handed over to the family. In addition to the shootout, KKB assisted by local residents attacked health workers and set fire to public facilities. Four health workers who are still being treated at Marthen Indey Hospital named dr. Restu Pamanggi, Katrianti Tandila, Emanuel Abi, and Kristina Sampe Tonapa.
