There Are 7 KPK Employees Affected By COVID-19, 5 Of Them Recovering

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that from May to July, 7 of its employees had contracted COVID-19.

"Based on the information we received from the HR Bureau, the General Section and the KPK Polyclinic, there are currently 7 KPK employees who have been infected with COVID-19 between May-July 2020," said Acting KPK spokesman for prosecution Ali Fikri through his written statement.

After receiving treatment, 5 of them have recovered since May and June. Meanwhile, an employee is still undergoing the treatment process at the hospital and is in good condition and is waiting for further testing before being declared healthy.

Meanwhile, 1 more person is undergoing an independent isolation process with the monitoring of the hospital and community health center around his residence.

"The tracing process with whoever is in contact has also been carried out so that the potential for transmission can be minimized," said Ali.

The KPK has also prepared several things as an effort to mitigate the risk of transmitting COVID-19. First is resetting the lift capacity. In the meantime, said Ali, emergency stairs could be used in order to reduce the density of the elevator queues.

Then, the spraying of disinfectants will be carried out periodically and the KPK plans to hold another rapid test in the near future.
