The Thief Of A Bag Containing Rp3.2 Million In A Public Health Center That Was Viral, Finally Arrested

SUKABUMI – One week on the run, the man with the initials Res (20), a resident of Badakputih Village, Pelabuhan Ratu, was arrested by the Operational Team of Criminal Investigation Unit of Sukabumi Police in the Cisaat District. Res is wanted for stealing at the Simpenan Health Center.

"We received reports that there were people resembling Res roaming the Cisaat sub-district and the team immediately went to the location to make arrests," said Sukabumi Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, Police Commissioner Adjutant Rizka Fadhila to reporters in Sukabumi, Sunday, September 19.

Res has been on the wanted list (DPO) since Wednesday, September 15 after stealing a bag containing Rp3.2 million in cash belonging to a resident at Simpenan Health Center, Cidadap Village, Simpenan District. At the time of his arrest, Res did not fight back.

As a result of the arrest, the police also confiscated evidence in the form of a black bag belonging to the victim and a Honda Beat motorcycle used by the suspect in his action.

Res was taken to the Sukabumi Police Headquarters for questioning after being the mastermind of the theft case with two colleagues at the Simpenan Health Center. Allegedly, while carrying out the action the suspect had been stalking the bag belonging to Desi Rochayani, a resident of Cidadap Village, which contained millions of rupiah.

"We are still asking for information from Res to develop this case and reveal whether the suspect has previously carried out similar actions," he added.

Previously, Res along with two colleagues IR (17) and As (15) residents of Babakanjampang Village, Cikole District, Sukabumi City committed theft at the Simpenan Health Center on Wednesday (15/9).

At that time, Res entered the public health center which was empty from service activities because he was resting, and casually entered the emergency room to retrieve Desi's bag containing Rp3.2 million.

After successfully carrying out the action, Res immediately got on a Honda Beat motorbike with two of his colleagues IR and As. In the middle of their journey, they parted ways with the reason that Res was going to Bogor and gave Rp100,000 from the crime proceeds to his colleague who was about to return to Sukabumi City.

However, while traveling to Bantargadung District, the motorbike riding by IR and As crashed into a tree causing IR to break his leg while As only had abrasions. The police, who initially received a report of a theft case, received information about a traffic accident case whose victims were similar to the characteristics of the perpetrators of the theft at the Simpenan Health Center which were recorded on CCTV.
