Shoe Monument Vandalism, Deputy Governor: Officials Will Investigate The Perpetrators

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria ensured that the perpetrators of the Tugu Shoes vandalism in Sudirman, Central Jakarta will be thoroughly investigated by law enforcement officials.

This was conveyed by Riza Patria after learning about the graffiti on the monument which was inaugurated last Monday, September 13.

"Of course later the authorities will thoroughly investigate who did it," said Riza to reporters in Jakarta, Sunday, September 19.

He said that Jakartans, especially young people, were not prohibited from doing murals. However, Riza asked that creativity be channeled in the right place and medium.

Moreover, it feels that it has never prohibited young people from being creative and even provides the widest opportunity to increase their creativity.

"However, you must know the place. Do not carry out these activities in places that are not in place. The shoe monument is part of the icon of the City of Jakarta, do not then tarnish it with vandalism," said Riza.

As previously reported, Tugu Shoes became a victim of vandalism. This caused residents who wanted to take pictures in front of the installation to feel disturbed.

For information, this monument is the result of the collaboration of a number of parties including the BUMD PT Jakarta Tourisindo. This shoe-shaped installation was built near Sudirman BNI City Station, Central Jakarta.
