Mahfud MD: Border Area Management Is A National Priority

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD said the management of Indonesia's border areas, including the outermost areas, is a national priority.

This was conveyed by him during the 'Sturdy State Border for a Strong and Growing Indonesia' which was held on Friday, September 17 yesterday.

"I remind again that the management of border areas is a national priority. Indonesian President Joko Widodo emphasized that the state must be present at the border," Mahfud said in his written statement, Friday, September 17.

According to him, the presence of the state at the border is very important so that the people there can feel national development and are proud to be Indonesian citizens.

The Chairperson of the Steering Committee for the National Border Management Agency (BNPP) also asked all stakeholders to unite in managing and building borders properly so that President Jokowi's nawacita or goals can be achieved.

"I believe we will all try and be united so that everything we do to manage and build borders can be carried out properly," he stressed. BNPP coordination.

He hopes that the efforts that have been made by all parties can realize the border area as a safe, sovereign and competitive front porch.
