Japan Reminds Terror Threat, BIN Takes Anticipation And Early Detection

JAKARTA - The State Intelligence Agency (BIN) has anticipated the potential threat of terrorism in the country. This was done after a warning from the Japanese government regarding the terror threat some time ago.

"BIN is taking anticipatory steps against potential threats of acts of terrorism in Indonesian territory by continuously optimizing early detection and early prevention, as well as developing public participation through a quick report system," said Deputy VII BIN Wawan Hari Purwanto in a written statement, Friday, September 17.

In addition, BIN has also synergized with other parties such as the Police, TNI, and BNPT to prevent these potential threats.

Furthermore, Wawan said that warnings from the Japanese government regarding the threat of terror in the country and several Southeast Asian countries were a natural thing to protect their citizens. So, he asked the public not to panic or worry too much.

"The community is expected to be able to respond to the information wisely. The community does not need to have excessive worries but it is still necessary to build vigilance," said Wawan.

Not only that, he also ensures that the security forces continue to be on standby and try to protect the public and other citizens.

"All work together and synergize in a sustainable manner," said Wawan. "Security forces continue to be on standby in an effort to protect their citizens and foreign nationals in Indonesia, as our citizens are also protected by security forces in that country," he added.

For information, the Japanese government had issued a warning to its citizens to be careful of potential terror threats in six Southeast Asian countries, namely Indonesia, the Philippines, Myanmar, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.

The country claims to have received information that there is an increased risk of terror threats such as suicide bombings in the six countries.
